Emperor Karl VI built this church to celebrate the Archbishop of Milan, St. Charles Borromeo, for the help he gave plague sufferers during the 1713 epidemic. It is huge and richly embellished and painted. We were able to get all the way to the top to see the frescoes on the ceiling, about 243 feet above the floor! I did not look down.
Was this poster in the Handel museum? If so, I'll bet it made your heart skip a beat (or two).
